Nuremberg, December 3, 2012 – The new G302 and G303 Ethernet switches on 3U CompactPCI® Serial make a name for themselves thanks to their flexibility. Whether managed or unmanaged, in multiprocessing systems with high data volume or for versatile I/O: Thanks to their CompactPCI® Serial architecture the rugged switches are well equipped for any field of application.
Seamless Communication for Railway and Industry
The G302 (managed) and G303 (unmanaged) CompactPCI® Serial switches offer 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports via RJ45 or rugged M12 connectors. The G302 has a service interface at the front, which is also accessible via an M12 connector.
Out of the 16 possible Ethernet ports up to 3 ports can be led to the front. Versions with a total number of 4, 8 or 12 ports are also possible. If all ports are led to the backplane, the card can also be enclosed in a conduction cooling frame.
In a system the G302 or G303 can be inserted in a peripheral slot and can take over typical tasks for connecting external devices – without any software overhead thanks to CompactPCI® Serial.
Moreover, the CompactPCI® Serial full-mesh architecture offers another special feature: The switch can also be inserted into the system slot, which allows for an easy set-up of powerful multicomputers, whose CPU cards are plugged into peripheral slots – an ideal solution for demanding industrial applications.
Both Ethernet switches support full and half duplex, fast non-blocking store-and-forward switching and autonegotiation as well as Layer-2 switching. Integrated self-test mechanisms turn them into reliable components in the communication system.
The switches were developed for rugged environments and are particularly suitable for railway applications. They comply with the EN 50155 railway standard, are specified for an operating temperature of -40 to +85°C and are prepared for coating. |
